Polls How PDP upstaged El-Rufai’s Assembly candidates in Kaduna. The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won 70% of the seats up for election in the legislative elections held on Saturday in Kaduna State.
LP won two seats, while the ruling All Progressives Congress got four, representing 20% and 10% of the vote, respectively.
The achievement may be credited to the PDP Technical Committee, which is chaired by civil rights activist and former senator Shehu Sani, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District.
Given the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the Committee devised a practical plan to unseat the All Progressives Congress, APC National Assembly, and Nasir El-favoured Rufai’s candidates in Kaduna in the elections last Saturday.
The Kaduna State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party established a technical committee ahead of the election, with Shehu Sani serving as its chairman, Mohammed Wusolo, a former commissioner in Kaduna State, and Hon. Farakwai, a former speaker of the Kaduna House of Assembly, as members.
The Committee’s mandate called for it to cross party boundaries in order to mobilize voters, members, and women and youth organizations.
Together with this, there are also traditional leaders, laborers, and the State’s furious teachers who were laid off.
Sani, who talked with our correspondent, claimed that although the Labour Party utilizes Christian priests in their propaganda, the All Progressives Congress continuously targets workers, teachers, and areas of Kaduna State that are plagued by bandits.
