Peter Obi: ‘Don’t use your giving to indict others’ – Kanayo blasts Reno Omokri over donations for Mr Ibu

Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo, criticized Reno Omokri, a former media aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, for involving the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, in actor Mr Ibu’s health issues. John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, had sought public assistance as he battled an undisclosed ailment that could cost him his leg.

Reno Omokri had called on Peter Obi to cover the medical expenses for Mr Ibu, as the actor had endorsed and campaigned for Obi during the 2023 general elections. Kanayo O. Kanayo responded to Omokri’s post in a video shared on his Instagram page, condemning it as wicked.

Kanayo emphasized that giving is a personal matter and should not be used to accuse others. He expressed support for Mr Ibu and his family in their time of need and criticized anyone who used the situation to shame or criticize those who had not given.

Kanayo also noted that giving can be done privately and that even those who have already given should be appreciated for their contributions. He made it clear that casting blame on others for not giving was inappropriate and should be avoided.

In his concluding remarks, Kanayo warned against using charitable acts as a platform for castigating or indicting individuals and emphasized the importance of supporting colleagues in need.
