The Supreme Court has rejected an appeal by Senator Smart Adeyemi challenging the nomination of Usman Ahmed Ododo as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 11 election in Kogi State.
In a judgment delivered by Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, the apex court imposed a fine of N2 million on Senator Smart Adeyemi for filing what it termed a frivolous and vexatious lawsuit.
Justice Agim stated that the case presented by the appellant lacked merit and upheld the previous findings of a Federal High Court and the Court of Appeal in Abuja, which confirmed the lawful conduct of a primary election won by Ododo.
Further details will be provided at a later time.
