The Supreme Court is under tight security as the hearings for the three petitions challenging the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu commence.
Heavily armed security personnel have cordoned off the court, preventing unaccredited lawyers and litigants from entering.
At the main gate of the apex court, individuals without direct roles in the case are being turned away. Only lawyers representing President Tinubu, led by Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, lawyers for Atiku Abubakar, led by Chris Uche SAN, and lawyers for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Abubakar Mahmoud, are allowed into the courtroom.
Prominent figures, including the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, National Secretary Senator Bashir Ajibola, and others, have taken their seats in the courtroom.
Anxiety is growing within the courtroom due to the lack of confirmation regarding the names of the panel members who will hear the petitions.
Further details will be provided as they become available.
