Corruption: Buhari praises self, calls for establishment of international court. On Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari advocated for the creation of an international court to prosecute corruption perpetrators.
Buhari urged African leaders to step up their efforts to combat corruption and increase the number of incentives that discourage the theft of public cash.

“Corruption is bad, and any efforts to stop it are welcome. I have followed the anti-corruption campaign in Africa, and I can see both benefits and shortcomings.
“Despite the challenges, the fight must go on for the benefit of the continent and its inhabitants.
The battle against corruption has been fierce in Nigeria since 2015. A lot has been accomplished in the fields of asset recovery, anti-corruption laws, prosecution, conviction, and arrest.
The President stated that greater effort is needed on numerous fronts and counseled civil and public workers to conduct themselves in a moral and professional manner at all times.
He asserted that the international community must remove safe havens while the business sector must help reduce corruption.
“The judiciary needs more drive. Perhaps there is a need for an international anti-corruption criminal court.
For a better society, Buhari also wants families, schools, and faiths to do more to combat corruption.
The head of state of Nigeria declared that in order for Africa to reach its full potential, “we must eradicate corruption in Africa.”
Buhari said that he is pleased to leave a legacy of battling corruption among other things as his term as president comes to a close next year.
“I detest corruption, and I will do all in my power to eradicate it, whether I’m in office or not. I call on the young of our country to join me in this admirable endeavor.
