Wizkid, Tems win 2023 NAACP awards. The inaugural winners of the 2023 National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People (NAACP) Awards included Tems and Wizkid, two prominent musicians from Nigeria.

Tems won the Outstanding International Song award for “No Woman No Cry,” one of the Black Panther Wakanda Forever movie’s theme songs.

On the other side, Wizkid’s appearance on Chris Brown’s “Call Me Everyday” earned him the Outstanding Collaboration (Contemporary) award.

The awards were revealed on Monday night during the 54th NAACP annual program, which was virtually conducted to honor black achievement in the arts and entertainment.

The Afrobeat artists also won the NAACP Image Awards in 2022 for their work on the song “Essence,” which is featured on the Made in Lagos album.
