Lagos Guber I’m Igbo, married to Yoruba woman – Mr P laments Akere fire incident. The other half of the well-known music group P-Square, Peter, has bemoaned the tribal conflict that is developing in Lagos State as a result of the recent elections.
The musician wants the populace to realize that they are being used by politicians who don’t care about them but are determined to sow division among the many tribes that coexist in Lagos.
After the fire breakout at Akere Spare Parts Market in Olodi-Apapa, Ajegunle, Lagos, on Wednesday, Peter, better known by his stage name Mr. P, made the call.
Unknown individuals are alleged to have set fire to the Igbo-dominated market, destroying goods worth millions of Naira for political motives.
And in a tweet on Wednesday, Mr. P made it plain that the Igbo and Yoruba, the two largest tribes in Lagos State, do not hate one another. He said that Nigerians must understand that politicians do not desire what is best for people regardless of the tribe to which they belong.
I am a Yoruba man who is married to a lgbo woman. No, Igbos don’t despise Yorubas. Yorubas do not despise Igbos either. Tribes are being used by politicians as an alibi for their depravity.
“If you are Igbo or Yoruba, they dislike you. They simply have an eye on their wallets. Be more sage,” he tweeted.
