I didn’t want to get married, mum pressured me – Jada Pinkett

Renowned American actress and talk show host, Jada Pinkett Smith, has openly revealed that she never had the desire to marry her husband, Will Smith.

Their wedding took place at the Cloisters Castle in Baltimore, Maryland, in 1997.

However, during an episode of her talk show, Red Table Talk, Pinkett confessed that her marriage was not her initial choice, as her decision to marry was heavily influenced by her mother due to her pregnancy at the time.

Pinkett expressed her reluctance, stating, “I was so upset that I had to have a wedding. I was so pissed. I was crying. I cried the whole wedding. I really didn’t want to get married. I was under so much pressure being a young actress and pregnant. I didn’t know what to do. But I knew I never wanted to be married. The wedding was horrible. I was three months pregnant at the wedding.”

As previously reported by The City Forbes, Pinkett recently shared in a clip from her upcoming NBC News primetime special with Hoda Kotb that she and her husband, Will Smith, have been living separately since 2016.
