Chung Ha Returned With The First Part Of Her Second Studio Album

Chung Ha Returned With The First Part Of Her Second Studio Album. Yesterday (July 11), K-pop singer Chung Ha made a comeback with the first half of her second studio album, “Bare & Rare,” and its lead song, “Sparkling.”

The singer longingly observes a fishbowl in the fanciful new video before being whisked away to an aquatic paradise. Chung Ha and her backing dancers perform the song’s choreography in front of a lavish underwater pavilion while dressed in sparkling, mermaid-inspired attire.

The eight-track album “Bare & Rare, Pt. 1” also includes the song “Crazy Like You,” a duet with fellow 88rising singer-songwriter BIBI.

Every song on the album has lyrics written by Chung Ha, who is also listed as the only lyricist of “California Dreams,” which she performed at the Seoul Waterbomb Festival 2022 earlier this month.

ADORA, a former Big Hit Music producer and singer best known for her work with BTS, Tomorrow X Together, and GFRIEND, as well as Australian producer Tushar Apte, who produced the songs “Good Night My Princess” and “Louder,” respectively, are also featured on the tracklist of Chung Ha’s sophomore studio album.

Part one of “Bare & Rare” was released more than a year after Chung Ha’s debut studio album, “Querencia,” which came out in February of last year. The release date for the album’s second half is not yet known.

Chung Ha released a special digital single called “Killing Me” in November. NME’s Angela Patricia Suacillo gave the song a four-star review and said, “Chung Ha excels at exploiting what’s familiar to us and using it as metaphors for her own pain.”
