Sexual abuse R Kelly bags additional 20 years jail term

Sexual abuse R Kelly bags additional 20 years jail term. Robert Sylvester Kelly, better known by his stage as R. Kelly, was a former American music artist who was recently given an extra 20 years in jail.

After being convicted by a jury of child pornography and enticing of a juvenile, the 56-year-old was sentenced to 20 years in prison on Thursday by United States District Judge Harry D. Leinenweber.

After being found guilty of three counts of producing child pornography and three counts of inducing a juvenile to participate in illegal sexual behavior in a federal trial in 2022, Kelly is already serving a 30-year prison sentence.

The prosecution presented actual video evidence showing the artist sexually assaulting his 14-year-old goddaughter in the most recent guilty judgment.

In place of the 25-year sentence that the prosecution had requested, the U.S. District Judge sentenced R. Kelly to 20 years in prison, with 19 of the 20 years to be served concurrently with his prior term. Whereas the remaining year would be served after that sentence or in subsequent years.

“Robert Kelly is a serial sexual predator who, over the years, targeted young girls and went to great measures to hide his abuse of Jane and other underage victims,” the prosecution said. Kelly still refuses to take responsibility for his misdeeds after the jury found him guilty.

Yet for practically the entire sentencing session, the singer stayed mute and declined to speak on his side.
