Ivan Benjamin Elijah Toney was born on 16 March 1996 to the family of Ivan Toney Senior and Lisa Toney in Northampton, United Kingdom. He is currently Twenty-six years old. He is a professional footballer and plays the role of a striker for Premier League club Brentford.

In 2012, Toney became the youngest player to represent Northampton Town when he made his first-team debut by scoring 13 goals in 60 matches across all competitions before joining Newcastle United in 2015.


During his first season at Newcastle, he had two straight successful loan spells with Barnsley, winning the Football League Trophy and the League One play-offs.

He spent a period of two years on loan in League One with Shrewsbury Town, Scunthorpe United, and Wigan Athletic.

On the last day, everyone had found out they had a scholarship and I was waiting to find out but I didn’t receive the call. Everyone was in the chat saying ‘did you call the call?’ and I was like ‘I guess I’m not getting the scholarship’. Then the next morning when everyone was meeting up, the manager called me and said ‘you have your scholarship. Come with the rest of the boys’. So they didn’t tell me I wasn’t going to get a scholarship but it was clear to see because everyone else found out the day before.

According to Toney there was never a time where he didn’t think he would be a footballer. He just kept playing while he enjoys the game. Although, he wasn’t really thinking about what could happen or the negatives. On 13 November 2012, He made his first-team debut in a 3–3 draw in the FA Cup first round away to Bradford City; he came on at the end of regulation time in place of Lewis Wilson which his team eventually lost 4–2 in a penalty shoot-out.
