Prominent Nollywood actress, Moyo Lawal, has openly discussed her intimate encounters in 2022 and addressed the release of a recent sex tape, clarifying that it was not her doing but rather her ex-boyfriend’s action.
In a social media post on her Instagram page on Sunday evening, Lawal expressed her frustration with those who falsely claimed she had released the tape herself.
She stated, “Until a lioness tells her story, every hunter will continue to be a hero. People often underestimate quiet, non-problematic individuals. However, I believe it’s time for me to speak up.”
She continued, “I can affirm that things are not always what they appear to be. I only engaged in intimate relations twice last year, and one of those encounters is the one captured in the video. I consented to it because my partner had already built significant trust over the years. He doesn’t reside in Nigeria, and he invested a considerable effort in gaining my trust.”
Lawal further explained the background of their relationship, saying, “Our relationship was progressing towards a shared future, including plans for a home and marriage.
However, I had to end the relationship last year when communication issues arose. I have a practice of putting my life on hold for any man I’m involved with.
I’ve made numerous sacrifices, turning down many dating offers and spending the majority of my adult life alone. It’s disheartening to have an unflattering video from a moment when I was unwell hanging over me.”
