EPL We’ll have another Jack Grealish’s situation – Bellingham warned against joining club. Jude Bellingham, a midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, has been cautioned by former Everton player andros Townsend not to sign with a Premier League team next summer.
Townsend wants Bellingham, who has been linked with Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United, to stay at Dortmund past the summer of 2019. He claims that if Bellingham leaves the Bundesliga powerhouse for a Premier League club, his situation will be similar to that of Manchester City star Jack Grealish.
Remember that Grealish joined Man City from Aston Villa in 2021 for a Premier League-record move of more than £100 million, and since then, he has drawn a fair amount of criticism.
In 55 games for Pep Guardiola’s team, he has only contributed four assists and seven goals.
Townsend told talkSPORT, “I would suggest remain there [Borussia Dortmund] a bit longer, because if he comes to the Premier League, he will be £150m.”
“Bellingham scores goals, but it isn’t his best attribute. Everyone will expect him to score goals when he joins the Premier League for £150 million, including the media.
Even when he is performing well, they will be on his back if he doesn’t do it. We’re going to experience something like to Jack Greal.
“For me, stay in Germany, carry on as you are, and perhaps later, come back.”
