EPL Martial key to Man Utd top four finish – Ten Hag. Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has named Anthony Martial as the player whose fitness issues could prevent the Red Devils from finishing in the top four this season.
Without Anthony Martial, the Dutchman claimed it would be “really difficult” for his team to place in the top four this year.
The Frenchman has only made six appearances and two starts for Manchester United this season due to a number of injuries.
Despite this, the Frenchman has demonstrated some of his potential for the team by contributing two assists and four goals.
“Yes, definitely,” ten Hag told a press conference ahead of Sunday’s clash with Fulham.
“We are concerned about the players’ availability on the front line.
“So it is incredibly tough to get in the first four if he [Martial] can’t be fit,”
Into this weekend’s games, the final ones before the World Cup break, Manchester United maintains its fifth-place standing in the Premier League.
Due in large part to his injury issues, Didier Deschamps chose players like Karim Benzema, Kingsley Coman, Ousmane Dembele, Olivier Giroud, Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe, and Christopher Nkunku instead of Anthony Martial for the France World Cup team.
