In spite of this, Potter maintains that he has not been shaken by it as he works to improve the club’s performance.
After losing to Southampton 1-0 at home in the Premier League last week, the former Brighton manager is facing increasing pressure.
Chelsea, which is now ranked 10th in the league, has only won twice in its past 14 games and has only managed one goal at home since 2023.
Speaking to the media on Friday, the 47-year-old said he had been the target of email attacks.
“Despite the support I’ve received, I’ve also received some not very kind emails from people who wish me and my kids to die, which is obviously unpleasant to read.
“Ask my family how they and I have been doing. It has not at all been enjoyable. I know fans get frustrated when the team doesn’t win when they go home, but I can guarantee you that, aside from the fact that I’m really appreciative of this opportunity, my life during the last three to four months has been quite typical.
Sunday’s match between Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur is on the road.
