EPL He’s world class – Boehly reacts as Chelsea star signs new deal. Thiago Silva received a new, one-year deal from Chelsea, which the club’s chairman Todd Boehly has justification for.
The Blues have implemented a program of signing younger players to long-term contracts under Boehly.
But under head coach Graham Potter, Silva’s expertise is seen as an essential element of the team’s growth.
This season, the Brazilian has started 18 of Chelsea’s 21 Premier League games.
“We are happy that Thiago has chosen to stay with Chelsea.
“He is a world-class talent, as he has demonstrated over a long period of time for club and country, and his experience, quality, and leadership qualities are essential to our future vision.
Boehly and co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali remarked, “We’re happy he’s renewed his contract with us and we look forward to greater success with him going forward.”
