EPL He’ll be so mad – Enrique on Arsenal, Chelsea target after failed transfer. Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique feels that Moises Caicedo, a midfielder for Brighton, would be furious after his unsuccessful bid to join Chelsea or Arsenal during the January transfer window.
Both Arsenal and Chelsea expressed interest in Caicedo last month.
However, Brighton turned down two offers from Arsenal and one from Chelsea for Caicedo.
Caicedo even made a message on his social media pages pleading for Brighton to let him depart during the January 2023 transfer window.
The Seagulls were insistent that they did not want to trade the Ecuadorian midway through the season, though.
Enrique predicts that the player, who will now remain at Brighton to finish the season, will be dissatisfied with the circumstances.
On Wednesday, Enrique said on Instagram in response to a post by transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano: “He will be very upset. However, the club is powerful. They don’t want to let you go in the midst of the season since you are under contract. So, from Brighton’s perspective, it’s reasonable.
