England Maguire has achieved more than John Terry, Rio Ferdinand – O’Hara. Harry Maguire of Manchester United has allegedly done more for England than Chelsea icon John Terry and Red Devils legend Rio Ferdinand, according to former Tottenham Hotspur player Jamie O’Hara.
Only 511 minutes of football have been played by Maguire this season under new Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag.
The former Leicester City player, though, was included to Gareth Southgate’s 26-man roster for the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Maguire has played well for England recently, helping Southgate’s team to the semifinals of both the European Championship and the World Cup.
In a talk with Chelsea icon Jason Cundy, O’Hara highlighted Maguire’s accomplishments on the international stage and referred to him as a good player.
“When was the last time we [England] had a top, top, top quality center-half?” Cundy questioned on talkSPORT.
”
They advanced to the World Cup semifinal and the European final, O’Hara continued. Harry Maguire has played for tournament-winning teams in the World Cup and the Euros.
O’Hara’s remarks, according to Cundy, weren’t entirely convincing, as Maguire couldn’t be grouped with Terry and Ferdinand.
But you can’t compare him to Rio Ferdinand and John Terry, the man remarked.
“No, you can’t at club level, but why can’t you at the international level?,” O’Hara said to defend his position. More than what they accomplished, he has accomplished.
At the international level, Harry Maguire has accomplished more than Rio Ferdinand and John Terry.
