Champions League Coach Ibrahim predicts teams to make last-8. On Monday in the afternoon, the draw for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 took place.
According to the DAILY POST, Real Madrid, the defending champions, will face Liverpool, a Premier League powerhouse, in a rematch of the championship game from the previous year.
Manchester City, the Premier League champion, will play RB Leipzig, while Tottenham Hotspur will take on Serie A winner AC Milan.
Club Brugge will play Benfica, while Frankfurt will play Napoli.
Borussia Dortmund will take against Chelsea, and FC Porto and Inter Milan have been placed together.
Paris Saint-Germain, the Ligue 1 champion from France, will play Bayern Munich.
The first and second legs of the round of 16 of the Champions League are set for 14/15/21/22 and 7/8/14/15 March, respectively.
The head coach of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FC, Abubakar Ibrahim, chose the groups of teams that should advance from the round of 16 of the Champions League to the quarterfinal round in an interview with DAILY POST.
Ibrahim also acknowledged that this season’s Champions League is more competitive than the previous one.
Ibrahim told the Daily Post, “The UEFA Champions League this season is tougher than previous year since all the clubs in the group stages fared extremely well this season.”
When compared to previous season, they all played extremely good football.
“However, this time around, following the round of 16 drawings for the Champions League, there are some strong clubs who should proceed to the next level [quarterfinal] because of their exceptional achievements in the group stage.
