How I begged show organizers to perform for free in 2021 – Iyanya. Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, better known by his stage as Iyanya, is a well-known musician from Nigeria. On Wednesday, he remembered how he begged the show’s organizers to let him play for free in December 2021.
The 36-year-old musician disclosed in a series of posts on his official Twitter account that he appeared at three performances in December 2021 but was only paid for one of them.
The Kukere crooner, however, expressed gratitude to God as his circumstances improved in December 2022 and mentioned that he had more than 20 performances scheduled in a single month.
In December of last year, he tweeted, “I played at 3 gigs; one was paid and the other two I wasg to perform at simply to be noticed.
“In December 2022, I awaken each morning to show notifications; we haven’t had a December this busy since 2017 with 20+ shows.” God be praised.
