10 years ago we predicted about African music taking over the world – Psquare. The Nigerian singing duo Peter and Paul, better known by their stage as Psquare, reflected on their prediction made ten years prior that African music would dominate the global music scene.

Following their thrilling performance at the eighth All Africa Music Award, AFRIMA, which took place in Dakar, Senegal last Sunday, the pair announced as much.

In a conversation with our reporter, Mr. P, as he is affectionately known by fans, claimed that what is occurring now is not unusual because they foresaw the globalization of African music ten years ago.

“Observe what is occurring right now. We are proud to be among the pioneers since we have popularized African music over the world.

“It’s normal, but the wonderful thing is that even when we broke up, we maintained the name and the team strong,” Mr. P stated in response to missing those years when the group wasn’t performing together.
